Preseason Testing Day 3: Charles Leclerc Registers Fastest Time

Leclerc from Monaco takes the lead in Bahrain practice

In what was a remarkable performance from Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc of Monaco, he set the fastest time during the final day of preseason testing in Formula 1. This happened on Friday in Sakhir, outpacing Mercedes’ George Russell.

Filling out the top 3 on this last testing day before the Formula 1 season kicks off on March 2nd, was Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu. He managed this impressive feat despite driving his relatively less impressive Sauber on the same Sakhir track.

World champion Verstappen secured fourth spot

The three-time defending world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull bagged the fourth spot in terms of time, leaving behind Yuki Tsunoda from Racing Bulls, who finished fifth.

However, it is crucial to take the rankings with a pinch of salt. Verstappen made the decision to drive with harder tyres which are not as swift around the track compared to his adversaries.
